There is a whole genre of board now where the rank is the bid: pay a dollar more than the person above you and you are above them. It works, and it is honest about what it is. This is the same board with the price taken out.
What it costs
Nothing, and there is no second paragraph. No account, no email, no card, no category to pick, no queue, no review. One text field. Submit a link, and the listing writes itself.
Then what is the currency?
Time. Rank is when you submitted it, so being #1 is a thing you hold rather than a thing you buy, until the next person submits theirs, which on a good day is about a minute. Everyone gets the top spot and nobody keeps it.
The one text field
A listing normally means filling in a title, a tagline, a category and an image, which is four chances to give up. Your page already carries all of that in its og: tags, because it has to for every time anyone shares it. So this fetches the page once and reads them: title, description, image, icon. What you see printed is what your page says about itself, and if it is wrong, the tags are wrong.
The pile
Only the newest ten are on the list. Everything else drops into the pile at the bottom of the page: thousands of small bricks, every one still a working link. Nothing is deleted for getting old. Submit it again and it climbs out.
By the numbers
How it is built
PHP and one SQLite file, on a small VPS. No build step, no framework, no container, no third-party anything. The counters above are read out of the same database as the list, and nothing runs in your browser except the printer animation and a poll that notices when somebody takes #1 from you. There are no trackers, because there is nothing to sell.
